CPTED: Lecture/Training: Georgia Crime Prevention Association

Mr. Nkosi was invited to the Georgia Crime Prevention Association's 9th. AnnualConference in Macon, GA to present Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) strategies. The training group consisted of persons from various law enforcement departments in the state, public housing authorities, universities and city administrators.

Mr. Nkosi presented CPTED analysis techniques his firm has employed in various projects in the Metro Atlanta area and sites inFlorida. He also presented basic crime prevention design strategies in the context of urban and site design.

 

The session covered topics from site lighting, to the uses of fences and walls (mechanical safety method), to window and building orientation (eyes on the street), to computer analysis of street movement patterns.
