Cathie Berger

Cathie Berger is the Director of the Area Agency on Aging (AAA) at the Atlanta Regional Commission.  Ms. Berger has been with the Atlanta Regional Commission, for the past 25 years.  She assumed the position as AAA Director in May 2004 and is responsible for the planning, administration and coordination of aging services funded through multiple federal, state, local and private funding sources.  She oversees a network of 23 contract agencies that provide an extensive range of services to support older adults and their caregivers in the ten-county Atlanta Region.

Ms. Berger has developed regional systems such as the single point of access for older adults needing information services, a comprehensive aging and long-term care resource database serving the public and private sectors, and a comprehensive case management system.  She has created and participates in numerous coalitions to develop regional and cross-sector responses to issues impacting the lives of older adults.

Ms. Berger is a licensed MSW.  She completed her BSW in South Africa and obtained her MSW from the University of Georgia.
