Steve Bitney, P.E.

Steven S. Bitney, P.E. has been in transportation engineering since the early 1980s. He the Director of Engineering Services for Street Smarts, Inc. Steve is responsible for directing all aspects of transportation engineering design from conceptual to final construction documents. Steve is proficient in the following areas: conceptual design layout; water quality analysis and design; hydrology and hydraulics; complex geometric design; context sensitive design; traffic control design; value engineering; and construction cost estimating. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in four states.

Steven serves as a member on several engineering societies such as: American Society of Engineers (ASCE); National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE); American Society of Highway Engineers (ASHE); American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC); and the Transportation and Development Institute (T&DI).

In association with these societies, Steve served on several subcommittees and was involved with: subcommittee member for the electronic signing and sealing of construction documents; subcommittee member assigned to review the Georgia Department of Transportation’s drainage manual; ACEC National Transportation Committee; and served as an Advisory Board Member for ASCE’s 2009 Report Card on the Georgia Infrastructure. Steve has also taught highway geometric design and drainage design.
