Veronica M. Reed

Veronica Reed returned to Louisiana 2008 to aid neighborhood recovery in New Orleans as the Deputy Director for Housing Policy with the City. Most recently she was responsible for community and parent engagement at failing schools transitioning to charter operators as Director of Community Engagement at New Schools for New Orleans. She is an accomplished, versatile, and multi-disciplined professional with demonstrated success in the development and administration of programs at the local, state and national level.  

Skilled in effective leadership with focus on successful program implementation, resource management, and project management, she was the first executive director of a statewide membership organization for community development organizations, a policy analyst and project manager under contract to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, and an account manager and performance manager for a private sector consulting and IT firm serving Fortune 500 companies.  Veronica has a B.A.  in Political Science from Creighton University and a Masters in Public Policy from Georgetown University.  She also has a Six Sigma Black Belt.  

Areas of expertise include housing policy, housing finance, housing research, K-12 education reform, community outreach and engagement, program development, program implementation, program management, contract management, training development/delivery, process improvement, relationship management, evaluation and data analysis and organizational development. Veronica has worked in Washington D.C., statewide in Indiana, Houston and now New Orleans.
