Pamela R. Bingham

Pamela is an engineer/leader/activist who believes in taking the “road less traveled” as evidenced by her history, passionate work in environmental management and public policy and ongoing efforts to diversify science and engineering. A native of Jackson, MS, Ms. Bingham heads Bingham Consulting Services of Silver Spring, MD.

She and associates provide project management expertise and comprehensive environmental management and policy solutions that integrate environmental science, engineering, technology, education, and effective community communication and participation.

She has over 14 years of experience addressing issues such as compliance, environmental justice/health, brownfields redevelopment, and public participation.

In 2003, Ms. Bingham expanded her environmental health work as the consultant Bioterrorism Preparedness Grant Project Manager for the Environmental Health and Bioterrorism Task Force of the National Medical Association, the nation's oldest medical association advocating the interests of more than 25,000 African-American physicians and their patients including equitable health care for all.

Other clients have included Howard University, Prairie View A&M University, City of Jackson, MS, City of Prairie View, TX, and Malcolm Pirnie, Inc, one of the largest U.S. environmental consulting firms. Her professional experience includes past affiliations with Johns Hopkins University, Booz Allen and Hamilton Inc., Florida Power Corporation, Walt Disney World, Shands Hospital/UF, and Philip Morris USA.

She has been a graduate student fellow/ ECO intern at the U.S.  Environmental Protection Agency and has worked with other federal agencies including the Departments of Energy, Interior (including the U.S. Geological Survey and Office of Surface Mining), Transportation, FEMA and National Capital Planning Commission.

Ms. Bingham has a B.S. in industrial engineering from the University of Florida where she has been the only Black woman Student Body President to date. She holds a graduate certificate in business leadership development from Johns Hopkins University with additional study in environmental science and policy.
