Kent Buhl

Mr. Buhl has dedicated his professional life to affordable housing and government programs that support it.  

Since establishing KB Consulting in 2009, he has:

  1. Helped a team design, implement and train others to operate New York State’s Acquisition for Redevelopment in New York City program.  This is a U.S. Housing and Urban Development Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) program for Superstorm Sandy.  2014-2015.
  2. Contributed to a team that designed, implemented and trained others on an important set of client meetings for the New York City Build It Back program to address Superstorm Sandy recovery needs in New York City.  2013-2014.
  3. Produced “process maps” for four state and local jurisdiction’s CDBG programs. 2012-2013.
  4. Played an integral role on five on-site HUD-funded Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP) technical assistance teams in Nevada, Arkansas and California, as the jurisdictions strove to implement effective programs to combat the foreclosure crisis while complying with federal regulations.  2010-2012.
  5. Worked on NSP assessment teams for nine jurisdictions to document their technical assistance needs and draft work plans to address them. 2010-2012.
  6. Produced and hosted national webinars over 140 times for more than 16,000 participants for clients including U.S. HUD, Enterprise Community Partners, Training Development and Associates, and NeighborWorks America.  Ongoing.

Integral to Mr. Buhl’s work as a technical assistance provider, trainer and facilitator, his attention to detail, excellent writing skills and punctual deliverables are valued highly by his clients.  

Prior to founding KB Consulting, Mr. Buhl enjoyed a 23-year career in the affordable housing and community development sector with Enterprise Community Partners, a national nonprofit organization based in Columbia, Maryland.
