Al Sullivan, CPC, MSOD, SPHR

Al Sullivan is the president and owner of Inspirus Consulting Inc. A firm specializing in system wide Organization Development (OD) and transformation.  His approach integrates both theory and practical tools from the Applied Behavioral Sciences. Al has a special interest in integrating the specific disciplines of Organization Development, Diversity / Inclusion, Leadership Coaching, and customized training. His primary goal is to help leaders and client systems engage everyone to do their best work.

Al has designed and conducted “Deep Dive” teamwork sessions for maximum effectiveness (team development, retreats, workshops, strategic planning, etc.). He helped select and lead the Change team of a city municipality to update and roll out a citywide Diversity / Inclusion and Culture training initiative impacting 3000 employees. He also helped the Information Technology division at GlaxoSmithKline (Fortune 100 global pharmaceutical & biotech developer / manufacturer) win the “Attraction/Development & Retention” Diversity award.  This was accomplished by designing and implementing initiatives that significantly increased workforce diversity and inclusion. Al has worked with several organizations to design and facilitate annual all staff retreats and cross-functional work teams. 


Al has experience designing, delivering, and evaluating training intended to improve awareness and collaboration in multicultural organizations. He attends to the various levels of system when training and consulting (e.g. individual, team, organization, and community). His continuous improvement focus helps to connect training design to strategic organization objectives.


Additional areas of experience include applying strategies in key areas such as Talent Management, Employee Engagement, Strategic Human Resources Management, Organization  Development, and Executive Coaching.


Al is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and a certified Leadership coach (International Coaching Federation). He earned an MS Organization Development degree from American University in Washington, DC.  The curriculum was co-designed by the National Training Laboratories (NTL). He earned his BA degree from Alabama A&M University.


He is also accustomed to applying key tools and principles from Six Sigma process improvement techniques. Al is also trained in a number of Organization Development tools and approaches such as Use of Self, Organization Analysis / Design, Action Research, Group Facilitation, Multicultural Organization Development, and Change Management to name a few.
