Richard L. McCline, Ph.D

Dr. McCline is the Principal, McCline & Associates. During his long career he has founded several companies including a multi-million business that distributed personal care products and a frozen food company that was an original entry into the highly lucrative ethnic food category.

Founder and Executive Director of the Southern University Center for Entrepreneurial and Leadership Development, 2009. Full Professor (Retired) and served as the incumbent James A. Joseph Endowed Chair in Small Business Enterprises, Southern University, Baton Rouge, LA. Professor McCline also co-founded the awarding winning Ohrenschall Center for Entrepreneurship at San Francisco State University.

Has served as an expert consultant to a wide variety of public and private entities and is widely recognized for his work in leadership, entrepreneurship and small business strategic planning. He is especially passionate and skilled in regards to planning and implementing socially responsible entrepreneurship and values-based leadership programs.

Has developed an international reputation in his discipline, having lectured extensively in Africa (Uganda, Liberia, and South Africa), Eastern Europe (Armenia), Mexico, South America, England, Spain, Italy and other countries in Europe.

Additionally, McCline is an accomplished writer with a number of articles in peer reviewed journals and respected publications in the fields of Entrepreneurship, Leadership, and Small Business Strategy. In 2012 he became a Senior Fellow, J. W. Fanning Institute for Leadership Development, Univeristy of Georgia.

Dr. McCline earned his Ph.D. from the A.B Freeman School of Business at Tulane University and his MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University. McCline’s undergraduate degree is from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana.
