Toni Jones

With more than 30 years of experience, Toni enhances the team with her strong planning and organizational skills, effective leadership and management abilities.  Specializing in concept development and implementation of targeted marketing campaigns and public relations strategies, she has worked in the profit, not-for-profit, and governmental arenas where she conceived and produced award winning marketing materials for a variety of projects.

As a partner with Diversity Marketing and Communications, Toni has focused her marketing and communication expertise on projects associated with Rutgers University, working with The Police Institute, School of Business, Graduate School of Education’s Office of Continuing Education and Global Programs, and Social Work’s Office of Professional Development and Research.

Among her current clients are the National Institutes of Health/National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.  For the past year, Toni has negotiated favorable rates for national and international print and online advertising outlets resulting in more than 5,800,000 impressions.  She also managed the development of all of the marketing materials created for the United States Marching Band in 2009.  Recently she was project manager on a massive statewide Post Partum outreach campaign for the NJ Department of Health and Senior Services that targeted over 130,000 women of childbearing age.

As director of the New Jersey Commerce & Economic Growth Commission’s marketing department, Toni implemented a plan to brand New Jersey as a vacation destination and an ideal business location and managed a multi-million dollar marketing and advertising budget.  .  As director of the department, she was responsible for the content, design and maintenance of the Commission’s websites.

Toni served as a marketing consultant to the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra and the Garden State’s leading art museum.  As deputy director of External Affairs for The Newark Museum, she managed all activities related to marketing, public relations, public programming, publications, special events and the operation of the on-site and satellite stores.  As vice president of Public Affairs for the Empire State Urban Development Corporation, she arranged television, radio and newspaper interviews that led to the passage of the $1.5 billion Times Square Redevelopment Project. 

She also has served as a news writer and producer for WABC-TV Eyewitness News and FOX-5 and was a reporter for the Detroit Free Press.
