Lorne Steedley

Lorne is serving as a Director of Member Relations at the Council on Foundations.  Before joining the COF Lorne was responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of employment development efforts at The Center for Working Families ("TCWFI") in Atlanta. 

During his time in Baltimore Lorne was the Program Manager for Employment Services at Catholic Charities. While there he was the creative drive that led to the design and implementation of Catholic Charities’ Weatherization Technician Leadership Program submitted to the Maryland Energy Administration.

Mr. Steedley is a member of the Baltimore Workforce Investment Board Youth Council.  Prior to serving at Catholic Charities, Mr. Steedley was s a Program Officer at the Annie E. Casey Foundation.

At Casey, Mr. Steedley managed a multi-year initiative on regionalism. Mr. Steedley received a BA from the University of South Carolina, a MS in Human Services Planning from the University of Massachusetts-Boston, and a MA in Sociology from Boston College.

He is a former Research Fellow in the Department of Urban Studies and Planning at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and is a Life Fellow of the Emerging Leaders Program, Centers for Leadership and Public Values, University of Cape Town and Duke University.
