Mr. Danny Bivins provides expertise in a quality growth approach for community development to the Fanning Institute. Currently, Mr. Bivins coordinates the Alliance for Quality Growth at the University of Georgia. He also helps to develop The Forum for Medium Metropolitan Regions and serving as staff for the Southeast Regional Directors Institute (SERDI). He has experience in the field of design, historic preservation, preservation planning, quality growth, strategic planning, and regionalism.
Prior to joining the Institute, Danny Bivins served as the Program Coordinator for the Georgia Historic Resource Survey Program, “Find It”. There he helped initiate a joint venture between the University of Georgia, the Georgia Transmission Corporation, and the state of Georgia’s Historic Preservation division to document Georgia’s historic resources in all of its counties.
Mr. Bivins graduated from the University of Georgia with a Masters degree in Historic Preservation in 2001. In 1996, he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in History from the University of Georgia. He also studied at Portland State (Oregon), Hunter College (NYC), University of Charleston (SC) and Avignon, France.
